WELCOME OUR 2015 CHAMBER BOARD OF DIRECTORS
West Bloomfield, MI —The Greater West Bloomfield Chamber of Commerce installed its new board of officers for 2015 at an installation breakfast on January 9th at 7:30 a.m. at Marvin & Betty Danto Health Center (6800 W. Maple Rd. West Bloomfield). Andy Choi, WXYZ reporter/anchor was a fabulous keynote speaker and Judge Kimberly Small of the 48th District Court installed the 2015 slate of board members.
Romy Shubitowski of DMC Huron Valley Sinai Hospital is the Chamber President for the coming year with Tim Farris to serve as President- Elect. The executive board is rounded out by Jody La Buda of Comerica Bank-14 as Vice President, Carla Schwartz of Beaumont Health System as Immediate Past President, Clara Bohrer of the West Bloomfield Township Library as Treasurer & Finance Chair, and John Edwards of LaFontaine Automotive Group as Secretary.
Continuing on the general board for another year include community leaders Kelly Taylor of Orchard Mall, Shane Pliska of Planterra, Eric Glick of Thav Gross, Judy Garver of Success 21, Barb Vorenberg of Vorenberg Associates, Rick Anthony of Ramco Gershenson, Cecelia Fydroski of Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital, Milton Duerod of Motion Realty and Pam Zajac of West Bloomfield School District. New board members that will be installed are Jennifer Butterfield of Lakes Surgery Center, Pam Dover of Comcast Business Class, Andrea Paladrino Heartland-HCR Manor Care, Mark Lines of Active RX, Emily Taucher of Twelve Oaks Mall and Ted Davis of West Bloomfield Parks and Rec.
“Carla Schwartz was a wonderful leader” said Executive Director Suzanne Levine. “The transition from Carla to Romy will be flawless and I’m excited for another successful year with Romy’s energy and vision. We are already in the planning stages to make 2015’s events even more dynamic for our members.”
Founded in 1973, The Greater West Bloomfield Chamber of Commerce is the voice of business for the greater West Bloomfield area, including Sylvan Lake, Keego Harbor and Orchard Lake. More than 200 members from throughout Southeast Michigan work to achieve the Chamber’s mission. Members receive numerous benefits from the Chamber, including opportunities for health insurance, leadership development, networking, a weekly newsletter, website visibility, business “matchmaking”, resource groups and informational programs.
The community has learned to appreciate the Chamber outreach through wide-ranging events, including, Grub Crawl, Educational Breakfasts, Leadership Luncheons, Mix and Mingles, After Hours Mixers, and the Annual Awards Dinner.
